An autobiographic report from the years 1931 to 1949, the time Karl Hans Bergmann, co-founder of the DEFA and later head of the Berlin International Film Festival, was member of the communist parties KPD and SED. The text impresses by showing big hope and ignominious failure, resistance and opportunism – and by portraying the personal experience of the end of an ambitious dream.
