Short Summary (English)

This film reports on the industrial health service in the GDR - its tasks and how the workers can make use of it. Using the example of a nationally owned enterprise, the film shows that health care on the shop floor goes further than simply helping the work force to keep up their ability to work; it undertakes such measures as prophylactic examination and is involved in redesigning and improving the working environment, to name just two examples.

Dieser Film berichtet über Aufgaben und Möglichkeiten des Betriebsgesundheitswesens in der DDR. Es wird am Beispiel eines volkseigenen Betriebes gezeigt, dass medizinische Fürsorge am Arbeitsplatz sich nicht auf gesundheitliche Wiederherstellung der Arbeitskraft des Werktätigen beschränkt, sondern sich mit umfassenderen Maßnahmen wie prophylaktischen Untersuchungen oder Umgestaltung von Arbeitsplätzen beschäftigt.
