Short Summary (English)

Although Ralf Horricht, a famous film actor, has just married, the honeymoon he was planning to take with Susanne, his newly wed wife, must unfortunately be called off For Ralf has a problem: he has mistakenly burned his National Reserve conscription orders and his attempts at dodging the police don't pan out. When it comes to serving in the "Prussian" National Reserves, the authorities don't pussyfoot around: Ralf, in the custody of two policemen, is handed over to his Reserve unit.

With the exception of Captain Hottas, who not without reason is nicknamed "dynamite", all the other soldiers in the unit pamper, flatter and admire the film star. Ralf starts to have second thoughts about Hottas because as Susanne unexpectedly pitches up in the garrison to visit her "hero", Hottas is suddenly a changed man. Ralf suspects that "dynamite" is trying to woo his Susanne. Ralf disguises himself as a general and reads Hottas the riot act.

Hottas readily agrees that his behaviour was most unbecoming, and he compensates for it by becoming an exemplary soldier.

Short Summary (Other Languages)

(Italienisch)
