Short Summary (English)
Late October 1989 in a Bavarian admission camp, two weeks before the opening of the Berlin Wall, a film worker of the Defa (Studio for Documentary Film Company) met several families who had illegally left the German Democratic Republic (DDR).
They talk about their motives for their escape. Their fate represents that of many others whom the film makers meet in the camp. Weeks later after the opening of the Wall, three of the families contact the film makers once again.
A new chapter is told.

Short Summary (German)
Der Film entstand unter dem Eindruck der Massenabwanderung von DDR-Bürgern über Ungarn im Sommer 1989. Der Lebensweg von drei Familien, ihre Befindlichkeiten, die Gründe ihres Fortgehens aus der DDR, ihr Zurechtkommen mit der neuen Situationen, all dies wird dokumentiert. Die politischen Ereignisse trugen dazu bei, dass eine Familie wieder in ihren Heimatort zurückkehrte.
