Der Bau des neuen Stadtviertels in Berlin-Marzahn, ein Riesenunternehmen, das ein Dorf verschlingt und Wohungen für Zehntausende schaffen soll. Für die Alteingesessenen aus dem Dorf Marzahn, eingekreist von Hochhäusern, wird das Unternehmen so lebensbestimmend wie für die jungen Bauarbeiter, die aus allen Teilen der DDR nach Berlin kamen, um hier zu bauen.
